July 11th, 2024: Setting up a Ghost
No experience with anything like this before. 21 years old and yet I feel like a waddling newborn when it comes to professional computer work. I decided upon Ghost because of it was what Ali Abdaal recommended most emphatically, and his video was first on Youtube when I searched up "How to make a website." Ali probably has some stake here, but I don't really mind. If it works, it works.
I already manage a few subscriptions, so I figure 9 a month isn't the worst. For comparison...
1. The Economist. $17.17 / month($412 per 2 years), for higher quality journalism on a variety of political topics, focusing on Europe and America.
2. Amazon Prime. $11.58 / month($139 per year), for savings, access to bonus services like Prime Gaming and Prime movie, and 2 day shipping.
3. Twitch Turbo. $12 / month. No ads on Twitch. Simple as that. Even creator placed ads don't pop up, and you don't depend on juggling individual subscriptions to streamers.
4. Youtube Premium. $14 / month. No ads on Youtube, or on Youtube Music.
5. Final Fantasy 14. $13 / month. My MMORPG of choice. I play on and off, and it's quite pricy for the content added in one year, but still a home for me.
All these considered, Ghost seems relatively moderately priced. I have barely tweaked with the settings yet to customize it, so I have a lot to do to set up shop. I hope to post here often on anything I want to write about. Which is just a blog. But bigger. Maybe.
